A Message from your Staff Development Team
Welcome to a new academic year and B.E.L.I.E.F. in Possibilities!
This year's program is planned around B.E.L.I.E.F. in Possibilities. It is our hope that you-the employees of SWC-will participate in the program that we've designed.
Take time to peruse this program calendar, hang it in your office, but most importantly, register for the workshops and activities that interest you and will support your work responsibilities at the college.
In addition to participating in the Staff Development Program, we encourage you to utilize the resources of the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC). The TLC is a gathering place where faculty and staff learn, have conversations about learning, and receive support for learning. This facility is located in the Learning Resource Center (Bldg. 420) for Fall 2002 and will move to the new library in Spring 2003. It can be reached at 619-421-6700 Ext. 5678.

For the past 15 years, the Southwestern Community College District has enthusiastically endorsed a comprehensive program of professional development activities for all of our valued staff. The reason is a simple one: proactive facilitation of the growth of our greatest resource-our employees-is without any doubt the most significant investment we can make in our collective future.
The broad scope of staff development opportunities we continue to offer allow all faculty, classified staff and administration a variety of pathways to acquire a greater knowledge of educational issues and enhancement of professional skills. And equally as important, it also allows each and every one of us to derive greater satisfaction from working with students and helps to promote positive relationships among colleagues.
To this end, the primary goal of your Staff Development Office is to foster the professional growth of all staff, thus enhancing the overall quality of our campus environment. Top
