Assignment 4: Concept Note for Children's Fun Activity Site

Just Kidding Around will be a children's game site, where they can play fun and educational games that will enhance their learning skills. Though the games have not been finalized, they will teach counting, memory and identification. The games will live virtually on a flash-enabled web site that will allow the user to play the games. All games will be animated using Flash MX and ActionScript and will feature 3-D elements created in Maya.
The logo that is feature in the enclosed comp will be recreated in Maya to simulate a 3-D effect. It will still use white and gray as the color scheme as well as the font, Bauhaus. All other graphical text will portrayed in Bauhaus, but won't be in 3-D, in order to avoid over use. Bauhaus is used because it is a fun font that is also readable.
The interface will be 900x600 pixels in order to accommodate children's vision. All elements will be seemingly large enabling the user to locate needed elements of site. The interface comp shows that there are three main parts to the layout: top, middle, and bottom. The top will house the logo and will be graphically enhanced with white circles of many sizes and transparencies. The middle section will house the navigation for the games and the area in which all game playing will take place. Whatever game is being played will be spelled out at the top of the game playing area. The bottom area is where directions for each game will appear.
Colors that the interface and games will feature:
Teal: #339999
Light Gray: #CCCCCC
Dark Gray: #333333
White: #FFFFFF
Just Kidding Around will be a high-quality site that allows children to learn while having fun. Its 3-D elements and appealing colors as well as large size graphics will send the message that this site was built for children.
